I've decided to start over on blogging here, taking it from the old entertainment blog to a general blog where some of my photography can be seen and thoughts can be read. I'm considering starting one of the photo-a-day journeys except using my cellphone exclusively, but I might create a separate blog for that just so I'm not spamming entries on here.
More info on that later on.
For the time being, here's a starter entry with a photo taken from my cellphone right before my girlfriends dance concert started. I really like how the lighting played out and how crisp the colors are. Getting good lighting is key to mobile photos turning out well when viewed on a screen bigger than your cellphone, especially now that more and more cellphones aren't equipped with flashes anymore. However, you have to be careful when playing around with options before snapping the shot as you can't edit what isn't there. Having too little light and trying to post-edit it in would bleach out the color. Using any of the color settings, filters, or "styles" can leave you with something that might look cool on the cellphone but may be lacking something when seen on a computer monitor. When you go to edit these photos you would find that your options for "improving" the shot are drastically lower because certain elements that may need to be enhanced are missing due to pre-editing.
Take your shots, take them straight, and worry about editing them later instead of while they're on the phones screen.
